Royal week started
The Royal week started with a beautiful King’s Day concert in the Atlas Theatre. The Royal Couple attended the concert with Princess Beatrix, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien. The concert will be broadcast on Saturday 27 April at 20:35 on NPO 2.
Royal weekend
The King’s Day concert kicked off a Royal week. The preparations of the centre are now in full swing. The weekend starts on Thursday 25 April with a Royal evening city walk and late-night shopping. On Friday 26 April, there will be live music in various catering establishments from 17:30 until midnight. On Sunday 28 April, shops in the centre of Emmen are open from 13:00 to 17:00. On Sunday 28 April, parking is free throughout the centre. View the full programme.
King’s Market
King’s Day is not complete without a free market: the King’s Market. The King’s Market is opened from 06:00 to 16:00 and is held in the centre of Emmen. At the square Wilhelminaplein, in the streets De Baander and Klokkenslag and on the car parks Karbeel and Willinkplein Zuid. Check the organisation’s website for more information.
Royal walk
The Royal walk starts at 11:00 and will be broadcast live by NOS on NPO1, on Saturday 27 April. The walk starts at the square Noorderplein and ends at the square Raadhuisplein. In principle, the route is completed in two hours. View the entire route.
