We don’t celebrate King’s Day in Emmen for just one day, but there is plenty to do throughout the weekend.
Thursday 25 April
The big King’s weekend starts on Thursday 25 April in the evening with a Royal evening city walk and some late-night shopping.
Royal evening city walk
On Thursday 25 April, you can take the Royal evening city walk. Let a guide take you along the Royal route during a one-hour walk. The guides will tell you what sights and historical facts can be seen along the route. Be sure to come in orange to get in the mood. More information and registration via “Ontdek Emmen”.
Time: 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm.
Location: start Tourist Info Emmen (Raadhuisplein 99, Emmen).
Costs: participation is free.
Late night shopping in Emmen centre
Experience Royal shopping with a special late opening, activities and entertainment! From exclusive deals to surprising extras, this evening promises to be a real treat! Come shop like a King or Queen in the centre of Emmen.
Time: 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

On Friday 26 April, pub and bar owners from the city centre are organising a fun evening. There will be live music in various pubs and bars. Get in the mood and swing those hips!

Saturday 27 April
During King’s Day, there is also a flea market: the King’s Market. The King’s Market is opened from 6.00 am to 4.00 pm and is held in the centre of Emmen. Check the organisation’s website for more information.
Sunday 28 April
On Sunday 28 April, shops are open in the centre of Emmen from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. On Sunday 28 April, parking is free throughout the centre. Check the website of the Emmen city centre retailers for more information.
